The Early Childhood Education (ECE) curriculum at WWCC equips Early Childhood Professionals to promote the learning and development of children in early care and educational settings.  The ECE department also provides professional development opportunities. Students apply newly acquired skills and knowledge to actual scenarios by participating in cooperative work experiences. Certified teachers may apply specific courses towards continuing education credits. In an effort to accommodate currently employed, Early Childhood Education courses are generally offered in late afternoon or evenings. Program curriculum is reviewed by an advisory board composed of local and regional early learning professionals.  All classes offered in the ECE department are STARS approved and are offered for College Credit.

Walla Walla Community College offers Early Childhood seminars, CDA coursework, short course certificates, one-year certificate and two year degrees in ECE.  The short course certificates are offered in infant/toddler, preschool, school-age, child development and special needs.

WWCC ECE department also operates the WWCC Child Care Resource and Referral office for Walla Walla, Columbia and Garfield counties.
