In addition to the CDA, ECE, AAS and AAS-T Degrees, Spokane Falls offers short-term ECE Certificates of Specialization in eight different areas that can then be transferred into the AAS Degree. Those eight areas are Infant/Toddler, EC Specialist I & II, School-Age care, Curriculum Development, Family Services Advocate, Child Care Administration and Family Child Care. Spokane Falls also has articulation with high schools and college credit for the State Training and Registry System (STARS).
Students are assigned to approved field site settings in private child care centers, special programs such as ECEAP and before/after school-age care, and public elementary schools to expose them to different program structures and teaching styles. This broad exposure to a variety of settings with children, under direct supervision of a master/mentor model teacher, is one of the program’s strengths.
Articulation agreements: Washington State University (Human Development), Eastern Washington University (Children Studies).
