Bates offers a CDA and an ECE Certificate.  ECE 200-level Child Care / Early Education classes are available during a convenient evening timeframe.  Bates also offers an AT (Associate of Technology) Degree in Early Childhood Education.

A unique offering of Bates is a second year night program for CDA students to continue on for their two year degree.

Clover Park Technical College offers a variety of degree options.  In the AAS-T degree option students participate in practicum experiences at the campus Child Development Center or in an approved local child care center.  Students will complete four practicum experiences.  The fourth practicum will be in an area of the student’s choice: Family Childcare Professional or Special Needs, Leadership in ECE, Child Development-Infant/Toddler, Child Development-Preschool, Child Development-School Age.  This program is approximately eight to ten quarters in length, depending on the time students need to satisfactorily complete all graduation requirements and hours of enrollment.  Program hours are arranged with classroom study scheduled in the evenings.

Clover Park also offers distance learning through Washington online (WAOL).

Pierce College offers the Child Development student several program options depending upon their educational background and career goals.  Completion of each program leads to an Occupational Certificate, transfer option, and/or an Associate in Arts Degree.  Pierce also offers an integrated ESL and ABE Training Program.

In addition to the CDA, Certificate and two-year options, TCC has on-campus Bachelors of Arts in Liberal Studies options in Human Development, leading to residency certification in special education and another in American Studies, with an Elementary Education minor, leading to residency certification in elementary education. The BA program offering are one night a week and one weekend a month.

TCC has also developed an integrated English as a Second Language (ESL) and Adult Basic Education (ABE) Training Program.
