Early Childhood Education offers a variety of short-term certificates and a 90 credit AAS degree. This program focuses on children from birth through age 8 and prepares students to work in Head Start, ECEAP, family Home Child Care, Center Child Care, preschool and school-age care settings. Courses are based upon competencies developed through the Washington State Skill Standards.

Highline offers five areas of specialization that are made to be a continuous pathway from ECE Certificates to the AAS Degree.  These are the Childcare Assistant Certificate, Early Childcare Certificate, Family Care Certificate, School-Age Certificate and Infant/Toddler Certificate.

A weekend college hybrid plan has been developed for part-time students seeking an AA Degree with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education.  This is an online and face to face hybrid program made for the purpose of transferring to a four-year University.
