The Department of Early Childhood Education at Clark College offers an Associate in Applied Science degree as well as Certificates of Proficiency and Certificates of Achievement in Early Childhood Education. This department offers classes towards a vocational degree, a transfer degree, as well as providing classes and workshops that fulfill STARS credits for current teacher/providers.

Specific tracks available in the certificate program are; family childcare, infant/toddler, school-age, and advanced applied curriculum planning.  As part of the certificate and degree program, students are required to complete prescribed numbers of hours doing student teaching and observation in the ECE Laboratory School (also known as the Child Care Center) under the supervision of selected staff.

In addition to the CDA, ECE Certificate and general AA Degree, YVCC offers the Associate of Applied Science in Early Childhood Education with a Preschool Special Education option and Paraeducator Preparation Training.  ECE Certificate specializations include infant/toddler, preschool, vocational preschool teacher and special education.  AAS tracks include ECE and ECE with a specialized option.  YVC also offers STARS courses, including the Basic 20-Hr Guidebook Training, and CDA Renewal courses.
