Military Katrina Victims

Military photoHelp for Military Families displaced by Hurricane Katrina

The Department of Defense (DoD) and the National Association of Child Care Resource and Referral Agencies (NACCRRA) have begun a special partnership to support the child care needs of military families during Operation Hurricane Katrina Relief.

All military families displaced by Hurricane Katrina are eligible to receive a financial subsidy in licensed child care during this time of national tragedy.

Impacted families should contact NACCRRA at 1-800-424-2246 or click the applicable button above to access the on-line application. Due to the extenuating circumstances, the requirement for supporting documentation listed on the application has been waived. The only documentation required is a copy of the sponsor’s military identification card. Members should annotate HURRICANE KATRINA RELIEF in the Duty Assignment block on the on-line application and it will receive the highest priority.

For further information, please contact NACCRRA at mcciyn@naccrra.org.

Operation Child Care

Operation Child Care, a program designed to support the short-term child care needs of National Guard and Reserve members in Operation Iraqi Freedom or Operation Enduring Freedom. Dedicated child care providers from across the country have pledged their support to our service members returning home for a few week of rest and recuperation leave by donating a minimum of four hours of child care services. This will allow these service members to take care of family business, take a spouse out to dinner, or enjoy other activities.

A special thanks goes out to all of the child care providers and Child Care Resource and Referral agencies who are participating in Operation Child Care for their devotion to children and their support of our National Guard and Reserve service men and women.
